The Puma H-Street immediately reveals its silhouette's origins: athletics.
In the late 1990s, Puma developed the Harambe, a no-compromise track spike for maximum speed – flat, narrow, and stripped to the essentials.
Mesh upper, aggressive proportions, and an immediate ground feel defined the design.
In the early 2000s, as technical sportswear increasingly found its way into streetwear, Puma translated this aesthetic into everyday life and launched the H-Street around 2003.
The DNA of the original performance model remained largely untouched: the distinctive low-profile silhouette, lightweight upper, and reduced design language were retained, with the spike sole replaced by a street-ready construction.
With its flat shape, technical look, and connection to running culture, the H-Street perfectly captured the zeitgeist of the early 2000s – an era where sports, fashion, and pop culture increasingly merged. The sneaker quickly became a defining model within the Y2K aesthetic.
More than two decades later, the silhouette feels more relevant than ever. While low-profile runners and archived performance styles are once again shaping streetwear, the Puma H-Street returned in summer 2025.
For the Puma x Asphaltgold version, it was clear early on: the original shape remains untouched. Instead, the focus is on materiality and color. Suede, smooth leather details, and mesh inserts give the sneaker additional depth without losing the lightness and technical feel of the original. On top, there's also a second pair of laces included.

About Puma

Founded in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler, the sports brand knew early on how to cause a stir with outstanding products and perfect product placement. In addition to its strong involvement in soccer and athletics, it was the tennis boom of the 1980s that finally lifted Puma into the premier league of sporting goods manufacturers. With the emergence of breakdancing and hip hop culture, the Puma Suede soon became the must-have sneaker for b-boys and girls worldwide and can celebrate its now 50th anniversary in 2018.

In the 1990s, Puma set new standards in sneaker innovation with its disc lacing system and Trinomic cushioning. At the same time, the Puma Speedcat was created, a silhouette that was originally developed for motorsports and now enjoys cult status as a lifestyle and retro sneaker.

In addition to the probably best-known brand ambassador and exceptional athlete Usain Bolt, Puma was able to win pop icons Rihanna and The Weeknd for collaborations in recent years. From the highly coveted Fenty and XO collections, new sneaker creations are continuously created that redefine the status quo in terms of sneaker design.
