Shortly thereafter, the Old Skool was the first Vans sneaker with the company's own logo on the side, which finally cemented the company's recognition value. When the movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" starring Sean Penn hit theaters in 1982, Vans became known to a much wider audience.
